Rachel (from the Bible =.o)
Today He Chen, Joanna and I finished (sort of) the science BRP.
Yay.
We were fooling around like heck.
xD
In the end we were so strapped of time I ate my lunch in 5min.
"Oh that's fast?" I'd probably heard you say.
Trust me, the food was JUST cooked. So it's very hot.
The quantity is not little.
How do you eat that in 5min?
I did it anyways.
Hahaha.
(Not funny)
Why am I talking to myself?
Sigh.
This blog is so dead cos I just don't go around advertising it.
But haha, my dear Ah Ma and Nessa did go do that.
But, I'm still missed.
)):
Oh and He Chen and Joanna asked me why don't I convert to christianity?
Well, here's my answer:
I think being catholic is the MOST blessed thing I had in my whole life.
Yes.
No miracles ever happened, except being a catholic.
Because being a catholic, all those wonderful and beautiful things could happen. So they aren't called miracles anymore.
Christianity don't have cathecism.
How the heck do you bond with your community?
Best of all, what do you even know about God, apart from reading the Bible?
Sometimes, having people tell you about those connections in the Bible is good.
It's so thick, you can't always read between the lines.
Oh and the best answer that I really believe in, I love being a catholic.
(:
Haha.
At cathecism we watched the lesson on The Patriachs.
So the teacher was talking on Abram/Abraham, Rachel (HAHA? Not funny) and Joseph.
Abraham is the portrait of perserverance.
Rachel is the portrait of prayer.
And Jospeh is the portrait of forgiveness.
(:
I shall pray more often then.
Mark Hart was like, Jacob wanted to marry Rachel (HAHA), and he had to work for seven years so he could marry her.
Wow.
I wish a guy is willing to sacrifice like that for me. *Dreamy eyes*
But the father secretly swapped Rachel and Leah (Elder sister, Rachel's second in line) so Jacob married LEAH instead.
OHMYGOSH.
OHMYGOSH.
But the story doesn't end there :D
Jacob was so furious the next morning when he found out that he went to confront the father. So the dad said that the eldest should go first. (Retribution for stealing his brother's place. God knows how to punish someone)
So, he worked for another SEVEN years.
Wow wow.
By then Leah already gave birth to like probably 4 children.
And Rachel prayed to God for a child but she was childless for years.
Out of desperation, she told Jacob to take her servant and have a baby first.
So Rachel's servant gave birth to 2 babies. (Gross)
Leah was jealous so she too gave her servant to Jacob.
Leah's servant gave birth to 2 babies too.
At the same time, Leah gave birth to another 2 children. So it's 6 in total.
Rachel (poor thing) was like so depressed and stuff cos she's still barren.
It's like as if God didn't hear her.
BUT, then her prayers were answered!
She gave birth to a child and he's Joseph.
She prayed that she was even willing to give up her life for a baby.
Her second child was the last child of Jacob's, and he's Benjamin.
But sadly, Rachel died upon giving birth to her second child.
Sad right?
So she was the portrait of prayer cos she prayed like infinity times just for a child and she never gave up. Her faith was strong.
(:
That (grandmother) story must have bored people to death.
But I shall follow her, and pray faithfully. :D
Oh and Joseph was Jacob's favorite son, cos he's the first child of his *ahem* "lover".
The funny thing is all of Jacob's children are BOYS and there are 12 of them.
Woah. (The story line is like that, though I'm not too sure the sequence of which baby came first, but Joseph and Benjamin were DEFINITELY the last two)
Well, that's that.
I thought of what's going to be my middle name when I have my confirmation.
I have three names in mind:
Grace, Hope and Faith.
Simple, short and sweet.
It gives the meaning directly, I don't have to beat about the bush.
If I can find names which are in someother language but with same meaning and roughly near the spelling, I might consider (:
Step right up to the freaky & tangible at 6:15 PM :D
Back to top?
